THE GRASSMEN ARE BACK ON HOME TURF.
Following the huge success of the charity Make-A-Wish raffle of the Fiat 110-90, the Grassmen were faced with a problem! How would they every top that? The GRASSMEN made no secrets of their ambitions to raise £200,000 for their chosen charity over the course of 2 years but in other to achieve this goal, they had to pull out all the stops!
The famous Ford TW-35 was subsequently taken out of retirement and restored to her former glory ready for work. The 32 County Baler Challenger would be the first proper test for the old girl. The idea with this project was to travel the 32 Irish counties baling 100 bales in each county and donating the money raised to charity. The final figure raised was simply astonishing!
The GRASSMEN felt that TW was designed for work in an arable environment so they crossed the Irish sea int he hope of leaving the rain behind and set their sights on Oxford looking for grain! What an adventure this was.
On the return of the GRASSMEN to rainy Northern Ireland the team decided to take a look at exactly what has changed over the ;asa 30 years of chopping grass. To do this, they borrowed a few OLD SCHOOL machines and put them to work alongside the latest and greatest machinery.
